Which sport(s) do you play? Golf What school do you attend? Coronado HS How long have you competed and what motivated you to get involved in your sport? I have been competing in golf ever since I was 10 years old. The past few years I have had the opportunity to play with and against AJ, a top junior in the world, at Anthem Country Club which helped me motivate myself. I realized if I wanted to compete I would have to really work hard and stay committed. What do you like most about your sport? I love how golf is an independent sport. You can never get down on yourself and if you do, you are only hurting yourself. What is your favorite sport to watch on TV and why? College football. I love the thrill when it comes December with all of the bowl games going on. My dad and I try to watch all of the games we can, especially when our home town college, Texas Tech, is playing. Who is your favorite athlete or person you draw inspiration from? I have become inspired by a man named, Dick Hoyt. He has accomplished many of his son’s dreams that others believed were impossible. His son is unable to walk, but his father wanted to make his son feel like an ordinary person, and they are able to do triathlons together all over the world. Hoyt helps me to remember I’m very blessed. I realize that all good things come from the Lord. Do you think that being an athlete helps or hinders you with your academic studies? In my opinion, it helps me because in order to excel in and out of the classroom I have to stay focused. My mom pushes me and always reminds me that academics come before golf. Therefore, I have been able to maintain good grades by keeping a 4.0 GPA. What is the biggest challenge for a student/athlete? I feel that if you do not set your priorities straight you will have a much more difficult time succeeding in life. Do you plan on pursuing your sport at the college level? Yes, I would like to go to a school with a great academic and golf program. Please list any accomplishments you are proud of achieving in your sport: 2008 Nevada State Individual Champion as a freshman 2008 All-Las Vegas Team as a freshman **Fun Questions** Do you have a favorite saying?
