On December 27th – 29th the 2nd Annual Vegas Valley Invitational was held at Durango High School. 16 Teams took the court (10 of which from Vegas) to knock out the defending champion Mojave Rattlers.

The field was not strong enough as Mojave once again made it to the finals and were pitted against another local powerhouse team in Cheyenne H.S. The final game was a battle throughout as Mojave point guard and leader, Darian Norris, finished with 22 points in the 73-71 victory.

Darian Norris was selected to the All-Tournament team and has also been selected the Las Vegas Sports Magazine Athlete of the Month and will be featured in the January issue.

Mojave is last years NIAA 4A runner up to Galena and look to make it back to the State Championship once again. If they keep up the intensity they showed at this tournament they may have that chance to win it all this year.
