UNLV Swimming at Texas Invitational

The UNLV men's swim team made their appearance known on Saturday night at the University of Texas Invitational,and finished the three-day meet in 10th place with 114 points, while the Rebel women placed seventh overall with 150 points.

Freshman Keir Maitland turned in the highest finish by any UNLV swimmer at this year's invitational, as he finished third in the 1650 free with a swim of 15:04.71. John Mendoza also placed in the mile, as he swam 15:52.55 to finish 11th.  Devin Phillips was 16th in the 200 back (1:47.89), and the 400 free relay team of Richard Hortness, Phillips, David Seiler, and Tamas Bosnyak placed ninth (3:00.61).

On the women's side, Kim Bonney turned in the highest finish of the night with a sixth place swim in the 200 breast (2:16.59).  Bailey Kuestermeyer also scored, placing 14th in 2:21.14.  Lisa Gillespie placed 14th in the 200 back (2:00.95), while the 400 free relay team of Bonney, Megan Hunt-Higgins, Marva Harpak, and Marina Sandback finished seventh in 3:24.02.
