The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services invites boys and girls ages 3 to 14 to participate in Saturday Junior NBA and Junior WNBA leagues that begin Jan. 19. The weekly leagues continue for six weeks. Participants will learn good sportsmanship and teamwork while gaining self-confidence and improving their game fundamentals. The cost is $35 for ages 3 to 4, $45 for ages 5 to 6, and $65 for ages 7 to 14. Participants are required to wear rubber-soled gym shoes and appropriate clothing. Volunteer coaches are needed. Pavilion Center Drive (702) 229-1100 Age divisions include Biddy Tot (ages 3 to 4), Biddy (ages 5 to 6), 8U (ages 7 to 8), 10U (ages 9 to 10), 12U (ages 11 to 12) and 14U (ages 13 to 14). All locations will offer 12U and 14U divisions. Brinley and Gibson Community Schools will offer all divisions. Not all age divisions will be available at every location. Registration is open until leagues are full. Additional basketball leagues begin June 14, with registration opening April 7.
