On Saturday night, the University of Nevada, Reno came into the Thomas and Mack with hopes of beating its in state rival but the Wink Adams & Joe Darger show took center stage and the Rebels were not to be contended with.
The Wolfpack held tight through the first half with UNLV only holding a 1 point lead into the lockeroom. The rebels only shot 34.4% from the field in the first half. The second half the Rebels turned it up and shot 53.3% and Darger went 3-5 from behind the arc. With Darger making the outside shot, Wink Aadams was able to drive the lane and create havoc for UNR. The rebels are not a team known for driving the basket and that was the reason for theri succes on this night. Darger finished with 19 points while Adams finished with 17. If the UNLV Rebels hope to have any success this year without a big man they had better learn from this game and understand that you don't have to be big to get the easy baskets. The next home game is December 1st vs. UTEP but the next big challenge at home is December 19th vs. Arizona.
