Centers will be closed Nov. 12, 22-23 and Dec. 25. All activities are subject to change. List is not all-inclusive. Call centers near you for complete list of classes and activities. Most activities require advance registration.

Youth T-Ball (ages 4-8)
Practice and play begins Saturday, Nov. 3,
Fee: $45, includes a T-shirt, participation award, instruction and weekly game.

Participants will learn teamwork and good sportsmanship while gaining self-confidence and improving their batting, fielding, catching, throwing, and base-running skills. The weekly leagues will continue for six weeks. Younger children hit the ball from a tee. Registration is open until divisions are full. Equipment will be provided. Volunteer coaches are needed.

7th Annual Wheelchair Over-the-Line Tournament (ages 18+)
Saturday, November 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Fee: $30 per team (3-person teams), or $15 per person
Las Vegas Wheelchair Sports Park at Freedom Park, Mojave Road at East Washington Avenue.
This inclusive smaller version of wheelchair softball has teams scoring runs by hitting a ball 25 feet over the line without the defense catching it. Call 229-4796 for registration and details.

S.P.A.R.K. – Social Play and Respite for Kids (ages 3-7)

Parents and children explore and learn through play, story time, music, art and more. Children with and without disabilities are included in all activities and siblings are welcome, too. Cosponsored by Nevada Early Intervention Services and Family to Family.

Heading On (ages 22+)
Tuesdays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Heading On is designed to provide individuals with a traumatic brain injury with leisure awareness, social interaction skills, leisure resources and leisure activity skills during and/or after clinical rehabilitation. Please call (702) 229-6358 for a calendar and more information.

Lorenzi Adaptive Recreation Center After-School Program (ages 7-21)

BlazeSports Las Vegas (ages 7-adult)

This sports program for children and adults with disabilities offers sports training and competitions. Focus is on wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, swimming and track and field. Educational sessions introduce new sports and exciting activities. All equipment needed to participate is provided, including the all-court sport wheelchairs. New A.G.E. Program (age 22+)
Monday through Friday, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. (closed Sept. 3, Oct. 25-26)).
Fee: $35 for 5 days; $28 for 4 days; $21 for 1 to 3 days.

An “after-work” recreation program for adults with developmental disabilities that offers varied activities and special events that promote individuality, self-esteem and independence. Call for information.

F.L.O.A.T.
Forming Leisure Opportunities using Aquatic Techniques is an adaptive aquatics program for people with and without disabilities. Kayak and canoe paddling lessons and swimming lessons are held at Municipal Pool September-May. Call for dates and times (702) 229-1710.

The U.S. Quad Rugby Association Division II Sin City Skulls quad rugby team is looking for athletes. Open practices are held on Thursdays. Call Bob Murray at (702) 229-4903 for information.

Power Soccer (ages 5+)
Practice sessions on Wednesdays, 6 to 8:30 p.m.
John C. Fremont Middle School Gymnasium, 1100 E. St. Louis Avenue, (702) 229-1710.
This action-packed team sport combines the skill of the wheelchair user with the speed and power of the chair itself, to participate in an extremely challenging game very similar to soccer. Power soccer is the first competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for power wheelchair users.

Coed participants must use electric wheelchairs with foot pegs (no scooters). The remaining equipment will be provided. No charge to participants. Bring water. Volunteer assistants needed. Call for details.

Leisure Connection (ages 22+)
Leisure Connection is a social group for high-functioning adults with developmental disabilities. The program provides recreational activities that promote socialization and independence in the community. Activities include bowling, movies, lunch and dinner outings, sports events and leisure education classes. Activity schedules are mailed out monthly to each participant.
