Neeva Cruz Garriss

Last month U.S. Youth Soccer held its regional tournament in Las Vegas and only one team from Las Vegas came out as a regional champion. The under-12 Neusport Girls. Neeva Garris was a big part of the team’s success. Congratulations to Neeva and her team and LVSM hopes for continued success. Neeva is our Athlete of the Month, so we had a chance to ask her a few questions: Which sport do you play? Soccer What school do you attend? Cadwallader Favorite subject in school? Is science Do you plan on pursuing your Soccer into High School and on? Yes How long have you competed and what motivated you to get involved in your sport? Six years and my friends get me motivated. What do you like most about your sport? Passing, shooting, and crossing What is your favorite sport to watch on TV and why? Soccer, because I learn moves and it teaches me how to play the game. Who is your favorite athlete and why? Mia Hamm, because she always fights for the ball never gives up and she is a role model in my life What are some of the accomplishments you are proud of achieving in your sport: One of only seventeen girl’s teams ever in the State of Nevada to win the Regional Championships! YAH! **Fun Questions** Do you have a favorite saying? I always call my best friend Rachel, “White Girl”, but we are dorks together. What is your favorite food? Pizza. Favorite show on TV? Is Scarred and Americas Next Top Model. Favorite movie? Grandma’s Boy, Silent Hill and Happy Feet. Any other comments that you think may be necessary for this questionnaire? Over the years, I have accomplished so much because I have a great coach, and I’m very proud to call him my “Dad”. I know sometime I make mistakes and he yells at me, but I know it is to make me a better player. |
