Free Youth Summer Swimming Lessons/Sport or Discounted Pass

The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services is partnering with the After-School All-Stars program to offer up to $25 in free group swimming lessons or competitive swimming sport participation to Nevada residents ages 5 to 17, or a $25 discount off the $40 summer season swim pass, at five city pools this summer.

Information on available swim classes and competitive swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and water polo teams may be downloaded online at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/files/REC_broch_Sum_07.pdf. The summer recreational guide with this information also is available at city of Las Vegas community schools, community centers and Municipal Pool. To take advantage of the After-School All-Stars $25 sponsorship offer, fill out a blue registration form available at Municipal Pool, located at 431 East Bonanza Road. Each youth is limited to one $25 After-School All-Stars aquatic sponsorship during this summer. Registration is open now for swim lessons and teams offered June 11 through Aug. 11. Municipal Pool is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call (702) 229-6309.

Novice-level swim, dive, synchronized swimming and water polo teams that welcome beginners and intermediate-level youth participants will be offered at all city of Las Vegas pools, in addition to swim lessons and open swimming. These activities are open to After-School All-Stars-sponsored youth at these city of Las Vegas pools:

Baker Pool, 1100 E. St. Louis Avenue
Doolittle Pool, 1950 North J Street
Garside Pool, 300 S. Torrey Pines Drive
Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Freedom Park, 889 N. Pecos Road
Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road.

Open swimming on summer passes begins May 26 at Doolittle, Municipal and Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool. Baker and Garside pools open June 11.
