Darby is to much for Wildcats; 4A Softball State Championship |

May 20, 2007 Spanish Springs High School of northern Nevada won the 4A NIAA softball state title over Las Vegas High School in dominating fashion with an 11-0 shutout on Saturday, May 19th.
The Wildcats finished the season 23-8, but were no match for the incredible pitching of Mallary Darby. Darby threw a one-hitter in the state finals. Spanish Springs won three state tournament games in two days by a combined score of 24-0 and finished the year 35-1. Darby finished a perfect season at 21-0.
