2007 Big League Weekend was once again a huge success! The Seattle Mariners faced the Chicago Cubs in two Major League Baseball exhibition games on Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31 at Cashman Field. The two-day event had a total of 23,220 fans that included two sellouts!

On Friday night, the Cubs pounded out 14 hits and defeated the Mariners, 8-5, before a sellout crowd of 11,562. Chicago third baseman Aramis Ramirez was 2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI and catcher Michael Barrett was 2-for-4, double, HR, 2 RBI. Seattle Center fielder Ichiro Suzuki was 2-for-4.

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the Mariners defeated the Cubs, 2-1, before another sellout crowd of 11,658. The game time was just 2:13 and the Cubs recorded 10 hits and stranded seven runners on base. The Mariners broke a 1-1 tie with a solo run in the sixth inning. Seattle center fielder Adam Jones was 2-for-3, double, RBI and shortstop Gookie Dawkins was 2-for-3, double, RBI.

Chicago designated hitter Alfonso Soriano was 2-for-2 and right fielder/first baseman Daryle Ward was 2-for-4.
