UNLV MEN'S GOLF FINISHES FOURTH AT SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The No. 8 UNLV men's golf team shot a final-round 293 and tied for the second-lowest score of the day to move up two spots and finish fourth on Sunday at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship played at Southern Highlands Golf Club (par 72, 7,510 yards). The Rebels began the tournament in 15th place after the first round, but climbed to finish just 12 shots back.

UCLA carded the lowest round of the day at 287 to claim the team title by three strokes over Georgia with a 10-over 874. Arizona was third at 885, just one stroke ahead of UNLV at 886. Minnesota rounded out the top five with an 888 final score.

UCLA's Lucas Lee claimed individual medalist honors, shooting an even-par 72 in the final round to finish at 3-under 213, just one stroke ahead of Kentucky's Alex Volpenhein. Billy Horschel of Florida, Chris Kirk of Georgia, and Pete Oriol of Arizona all tied for third at 1-under 215.  

UNLV was led by Brett Kanda, who finished with a 4-over 220 to tie for 14th. C.J. Gatto was the next Rebel in the standings, as he was tied for 27th after shooting a 73 on the final day to finish at 6-over 222. Sam Hunt shot the lowest round of any Rebel on Sunday at 1-under 71 to finish 27th with a 7-over 223.
