United Football League Announces 2010 Las Vegas Locos Schedule

Thursday, April 29, 2010

LAS VEGAS, NV--The Las Vegas Locos will defend their United Football League title season at Sam Boyd Stadium at home to the Florida Tuskers in a repeat of the 2009 Championship Game on Friday, September 17.

The United Football League announced today its 10-week, 20-game 2010 regular season schedule, which will be played this fall and culminates in the Championship Game on the weekend of November 26/27 between the top two teams in the final regular season standings at a venue to be determined.  Kick off times for all games will be available at a later date.

Head coach Jim Fassel, whose Locos players received their championship rings earlier this month, said, "There are no easy games in this league and we open at home against one of our toughest rivals.  I am sure football fans in Las Vegas will come out to support us and make this another memorable Locos season.

"We are excited that our schedule is out and that all of our home games are on Fridays and Saturdays at Sam Boyd Stadium.”

Following the opening game, the Locos will have a bye week and then go on the road to resume the rivalry with the Tuskers at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando on Thursday, September 30.   The Locos will return to Las Vegas on Friday, October 8 when UFL expansion Omaha team visits.  The Hartford Colonials come to Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday, October 23, followed by the Sacramento Mountain Lions on Saturday, November 6.

The Locos posted a 4-2 regular season record in 2009 and defeated the Florida Tuskers 20-17 in overtime in Las Vegas to win the inaugural UFL crown.

Las Vegas Locos home schedule:
Friday, September 17  Florida Tuskers
Friday, October 8  Omaha
Saturday, October 23  Hartford Colonials
Saturday, November 6 Sacramento Mountain Lions

For season ticket information, fans may visit www.UFL-Football.com/tickets.  Four-game packages, priced from $60 to $120, are available from the UFL website and UNLVTickets.com.

In 2009 all UFL games were televised on HDNet and Versus and it is expected that all games will again be broadcast on national television.  Games will also be streamed live on UFL-Football.com.

“With the announcement of this schedule we are thrilled to not only add a team but also to feature a rematch of our Championship Game between Florida and Las Vegas in Week One,” said UFL Commissioner Michael Huyghue.

“We are growing steadily as a league with the introduction of a fifth team and are actively pursuing additional expansion teams for 2011 and beyond.  A five-team line up allows players and coaches to benefit from bye weeks and gives fans four home games to cheer on their team."
