Findlay Wins Tourney Improves To 7-0 |

Wednesday, December 2, 2009 Las Vegas, NV--Findlay won the State Farm Tournament of Champions this past weekend in Peoria, IL. The first class event featured high level teams from nationwide. The three wins has Findlay at 7-0 on the season averaging 102.4 points per game and allowing 67.6 points per.
In game 1, Findlay defeated IMG 81-37 holding their opponent to 13 field goals. 6 Pilots were in double figures. Tristan Thompson scored 17 to go along with 11 rebounds. Cory Joseph scored 16 with 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals. Godwin Okonji scored 10 with 6 rebounds, 5 steals. Jabari Brown scored 13 with 5 assists. Nick Johnson scored 10 with 4 rebounds, 3 assists. Marko Petrovic scored 10 on 4 of 4 shooting. Winston Shepard had 5 and 4 rebounds. Findlay only allowed one IMG player in double figures (Powell,14).
In game 2, the Pilots defeated Carbondale Brehm Prep 74-59. 4 players scored in double figures lead by Cory Joseph's 21 points, 7 rebounds. Tristan Thompson scored 18 with 11 boards on 8 of 10 shooting. Nick Johnson had 13 and 5 assists while Jabari Brown scored 13 with 6 rebounds. Winston Shepard added 9 and 6.
In game 3, Findlay beat Quality Education 69-63. Cory Joseph scored 34 including 5 triples and gathered 5 rebounds. Jabari Brown scored 11 with 6 rebounds. Godwin Okonji scored 6 and took in 13 rebounds. Tristan Thompson had 7 and 8 rebounds. Nick Johnson scored 9. The win wrapped up 5 games in 8 days for Findlay.
Cory Joseph was named tournament MVP averaging nearly 24 pts, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals for the event on 60% shooting from the field. The all-tournament team included Joseph, Tristan Thompson, Jabari Brown, Quality Education's Quincy Miller and IMG's Dwight Powell.

Findlay plays this weekend at the Marshall County HoopFest. Friday Findlay takes on #11 ranked Christ School (NC) at 9pm cst and Saturday the Pilots play Our Savior New American (NY) 9:30pm cst.
