Which sport do you play? Golf
What school do you attend? Green Valley High School
How long have you played and what motivated you to get involved in this sport? I started playing golf when I was about 2 years old. My grandma gave me plastic clubs and I would hit them around the house all day.
Please list any accomplishments you are proud of achieving in your sport: Winning Junior World at age 10 and breaking the record, I shot 10 under par for three days. Winning State with my team and individually my junior year.
What do you like most about your sport? I like that there are no judges, no teammates, no one to blame it on except for you. If you screw up it’s on you, if you do good then you get all the glory!
What is your favorite sport to watch on TV and why? College Basketball. Watching my favorite team; UNC Tarheels! My dad has always liked them and I caught on as a little kid and I’m a huge fan now.
Who is your favorite athlete or person you draw inspiration from? Why do you draw inspiration from this person? My dad because he always has and will believe in me, even through struggles he tells me that I will get through it. My dad also for never giving up on me.
Do you think that being an athlete helps or hinders you with your academic studies? It depends on if you are willing to get the make up work in and not be lazy. It really depends on the person. My GPA is 3.7
Do you plan on pursuing your sport at the college level? I chose BYU to play golf because the environment at BYU is exactly what I was looking for. I have family up there and they have a great golf program, and the Coach is a great guy. I am expecting to play right away. I feel my game will be there come crunch time.
Do you plan on pursuing a career in your sport as a professional? That is the ultimate goal for me in my life. I would love to play golf professionally and I feel I can be very successful at that.
If you do not pursue a professional career in your sport what else would you like to do in life? I would like to look into something that has to do with numbers. Math has always been my favorite subject.
Do you have a favorite saying? You can’t win it on the first day, but you can lose it
What is your favorite food? Sushi and any kind of Chinese food
Favorite show on TV? Don’t watch too much but probably Sportscenter.
Favorite movie? Caddyshack |
