Surgance Announces Glove Donation on July 3rd

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

LAS VEGAS, NV--Surgance, Inc., a nonprofit organization that transforms communities, today announced a key glove donation and fundraising event for their Glove program in conjunction with the Las Vegas 51s "Fireworks Extravaganza" on Friday, July 3 at 7:05 p.m. at Cashman Field. Las Vegas will host the Reno Aces in the Pacific Coast League contest.

Volunteers working in Surgance's Glove program have been collecting new and used baseball gloves and repairing and delivering them to hundreds of young athletes around the world. While distributing new and refurbished gloves, the Surgance team also repairs the gloves of those underprivileged youth who many times stand in line for hours for those repairs.

The 2009 goal for the Surgance team is to collect and distribute 10,000 donated gloves to underprivileged youth in the Dominican Republic, Canada, the Middle East and the United States. According to Surgance, Inc., President, Brian Audia, "Through the incredible support of organizations such as the Las Vegas 51s, we are confident that the Surgance Glove program will realize the goal of impacting the lives of 10,000 youth around the world."

Baseball fans at the July 3rd game will have an opportunity to donate new and used gloves as well as financial contributions to this program. "We are delighted to team up with Surgance in this fund-raising event," states Las Vegas 51s President and General Manager, Don Logan, "Especially at what is traditionally our highest attended game of the year."

The Surgance Glove program is designed to provide encouragement to young athletes worldwide who dream of catching a line drive and having a better life through athletic achievement.
