The Las Vegas Sports Leagues Adult Flag Footbal Championships took place on Sunday on a blistering cold winter day. Perfect for those that love the game of football and for the A, B, C, D League Champions the day was in more perfect.

The Centennial Hills Community Center YMCA, 6601 N. Buffalo Dr., offers a basketball league for youth ages 6-15.  Games are held on Fridays and Saturdays with practices on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays to be determined by the coach.  Teams are formed based on age and skill level.  The focus is on skill development and fun.  A new session begins September 14 and run through October 26.  Practices begin the week of September 10 and games begin September 14 and 15.  The cost is $90 plus the cost of the uniform.  For more information or to register, call 478-9622.

The Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA, 4141 Meadows Lane, offers a volleyball academy for youth ages 10-18.  Players learn how to serve, bump, volley and spike from Hawaii’s best coaches.  The program is held on Fridays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and focuses on teamwork, respect, and Hawaiian culture.  The cost is $47 per month for YMCA members and non-members.  For more information or to register, call 877-9622.
