Strikeforce's "Elite" Fighters Are Becoming More and More Ordinary

  After this weekend's Strikeforce: Houston card, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker must be thinking to himself, "Son-of-a-biscuit." His two big names on the card "King Mo" Lawal and Bobby Lashley got beat up and knocked out by fighters who were heavy underdogs by most accounts. Take this into the combination with Jake Shields beating Dan Henderson then leaving for the UFC (or as Strikeforce says, "was released by Strikeforce") and Gegard Mousasi and Fedor Emelianenko both recently losing, and you have a big marketing nightmare at the top of the ladder in Strikeforce.

"The Expendables" World Premeire from Planet Hollywood

  On Wednesday night, Planet Hollywood hosted the star-studded world premiere of Lionsgate's new smash hit action movie "The Expendables" starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Eric Roberts, and even featuring a cameo from Stallone's 1990's-action-movie rival, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Most of the stars were on hand to talk to local and national media and Las Vegas Sports was there.

Ryan Couture Wins MMA Pro Debut for Strikeforce

  Last night on the Strikeforce Challengers series, which was aired on Showtime and took place live from the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, showcased the skills of Ryan Couture in his first professional fight in a contest versus Lucas Stark. It was on the co-main event fight, and Couture went on to secure the early first-round victory over an outmatched, 20-year old fighter in Stark. Yes, Stark is a pro fighter, but Couture has seen better comeptition in his amateur fights over the last year and a half.

Jimmy "The Rabbit" Proves It's Not Luck

  In the battle between Team Quest vs. Team Couture in Tuff-N-Uff's Amateur Fighting Championships, it came down to the main event of the evening between Jimmy "The Rabbit" Jones (Xtreme Couture) and Jon "The Gladiator" Gorton (Team Quest). After going up 3-1, Team Quest--from Temecula, CA--was looking to steal the night from the hometown team at the Orleans Casino. Team Couture battled back with wins by Jake Swinney, John Hahn, and Gil Guardado. Team Couture was up 4-3 going into the last contest of the night. Jones felt a little pressure to seal the deal and take home the Tuff-N-Uff Featherweight Title.

Q: What have you been doing since the fight with Shields? Rehabbing and training? 

Henderson: Yeah, rehabbing. I've had some shots in my neck. It's feeling a lot better.

Q: I had heard that you had a lot of back problems before your last fight. It did not specifically come from you, but it came from people who knew you.
