  Over the last 5 years, Manny Pacquiao has done some pretty remarkable things inside of a boxing ring. I have to say that I always doubted how prominant of a fighter Pacquiao would become because of his early fights against Erik Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez, where I saw him get beat up in two of his "marquee" fights to launch his career. Morales beat Pacquiao very convincingly. Morales even switched to Southpaw for the 12th round--which was a disaster as Pacquiao almost knocked him out--and still won the fight without much of a challenge.

  Roy Engelbrecht Promotions along with Fernando "Feroz" Vargas held the second installment of "World's Collide" at the Star of the Desert Arena in Primm, NV tonight. The World's Collide event was the first ever mixed promotion of MMA and boxing under one roof in the same night when it premiered on Valentine's Day earlier this year. The promotion is a $175,000 tournament between 3 weight classes and 8 fighters in each class of each sport that lasts through the year until December.

  ShoBox Presentations along with Roy Englebrecht Productions put on "Championship Boxing at the Border" tonight with the last two fights being televised via Showtime. The main event featured Cuban sensation Yuriorkis Gamboa (14-0, 12 KOs) facing a cagey veteran in Jose Rojas (25-6-1, 17 KOs) of Venezuela in a WBA Featherweight title bout. The co-feature was also an international duel between Welterweights Selcuk Aydin (17-0, 14 KOs) of Turkey against Said Ouali (25-2, 17 KOs) of Morrocco.
