Tuesday, February 16, 2010 LAS VEGAS -- Nominations are now being accepted for induction to the UNLV Athletics Hall of Fame.
Fans can find the official nomination form available on the front page of unlvrebels.com or inside their free Game Time program at the final three Runnin' Rebel home games (Feb. 20 and 24 and March 6).

Livengood Hired As New AD |

Friday, December 18, 2009 Las Vegas, NV--UNLV President Neal Smatresk announced today that University of Arizona Athletic Director Jim Livengood has been offered and has accepted the position of director of intercollegiate athletics (pending contract approval by the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents). Though his formal start date has not yet been determined, Livengood plans to devote immediate attention to hiring a new head football coach and other football coaching staff. -UNLV- |

Thursday, October 15, 2009 Las Vegas, NV--UNLV student and former track and field athlete Claire Schreiner was crowned Miss Wyoming USA at the state pageant held at the Natrona Country High School Auditorium in Casper, Wyo., at the end of September.
Schreiner, a native of Gillette, Wyo., is a fifth-year senior and is on pace to graduate this December with a degree in broadcast journalism. Schreiner was a high jumper for the Rebels the past three years, and the former transfer from South Dakota State lettered three times for UNLV.

Rally At Fashion Show On Sept. 26 |

Thursday, September 17, 2009 Las Vegas, NV--To tip-off the preseason excitement of UNLV basketball, Fashion Show mall will host Runnin' Rebel Day on Saturday, Sept. 26. The day will feature a Runnin' Rebel Rally at 4 p.m., featuring UNLV men's basketball head coach Lon Kruger and Runnin' Rebel players. UNLV women's basketball head coach Kathy Olivier and Lady Rebel players will join the men's team in signing autographs after the rally.
The rally - held on Fashion Show's Plaza, outside on the Las Vegas Strip - will also feature UNLV's mascot Hey Reb as well as UNLV's cheerleaders and the Rebel Girls.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 Las Vegas, NV--Former UNLV running back and kick returner Dominique Dorsey (2001-04) rejoined his former Canadian Football League team on Tuesday after not surviving the final NFL cuts.
Dorsey, who was named the CFL's Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2008, left the Toronto Argonauts in the off-season and signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Redskins. The native of Tulare, Calif., did not make the final roster, however, and was not picked up by another team so he has headed back up north.
