Rebels Fall In Double-OT In MPSF Semifinals

Denver, CO--Sixth-seeded UNLV nearly pulled off a second upset in as many days, but top-seeded Sacramento State ended the Rebels' championship hopes with a golden goal two minutes into the second overtime to claim a 1-0 victory in the semifinals of 2009 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer tournament on Friday afternoon from the Denver Soccer Stadium.

Rebels Rolls Past SJSU 4-2 In MPSF Tournament

Denver, CO--Sixth-seeded UNLV scored three goals in the first 30 minutes of the game on the way to claiming a 4-2 victory over third-seed San Jose State in the first round of the 2009 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer tournament on Thursday afternoon from the Denver Soccer Stadium.

Jaime Calvo MPSF Player Of The Week

Las Vegas, NV--UNLV's Jaime Calvo was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation co-Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday. It is the first weekly MPSF honor of his career, and the fourth for UNLV this season. He shared this week's award with Robbie Gouk from Cal State Bakersfield.

Rebels Knock Off MPSF Co-Leader San Jose State 1-0

San Jose, CA--For the first time since the 2004 season, the UNLV men's soccer team won a conference road contest as Will Ziegahn scored the lone goal of the game in the Rebels' 1-0 victory at  Mountain Pacific Sports Federation co-leader San Jose State on Friday night from Spartan Stadium. UNLV improved to 7-5-1 overall, and 1-3-1 in league play with the win, while SJSU dropped to 9-7-1, 4-1 in the MPSF.

Rebels Roll Past Houston Baptist 4-2

Las Vegas, NV--Junior midfielder Stephen Sifuentes scored once in each half to lead UNLV to a 4-2 victory over Houston Baptist in men's collegiate soccer action on Sunday afternoon from Peter Johann Memorial Field. With the win in their final non-conference game of the season, the Rebels improved to 6-2-2, its best 10-game start since beginning the 1988 season with a 6-2-2 mark as well. Houston Baptist dropped to 4-8 on the year.
