Las Vegas, NV--UNLV baseball received signed national letters of intent from eight student-athletes who will enroll at UNLV next fall and be eligible to play during the 2011 season for the Rebels, head coach Buddy Gouldsmith announced Thursday.

Las Vegas, NV--As this year's edition of UNLV baseball settles into classes and fall workouts, it brought to a close a successful summer for several Rebel student-athletes.

UNLV junior Richie Jimenez was named the 2009 West Coast League MVP, as he lead the league in hits with 57, hit at a .354 clip, while driving in 20 run for the Corvallis (Ore.) Knights. The slick-fielding shortstop made only six errors while recording 134 assists and posting an impressive .970 fielding percentage, and Jimenez helped lead the Knights to a West Division title.

Las Vegas, NV--UNLV baseball received signed national letters of intent from a pair of student-athletes who will enroll at UNLV next fall and be ready to play during the 2010 season for the Rebels, head coach Buddy Gouldsmith announced Monday.

Bryce Miller of Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, Calif., and Sean Silva of Clovis (Calif.) West High School are the two additions to the Rebel roster, and both are two-way players who could see playing time on the mound and in the field.

FORT WORTH, Texas--Fifth-seeded UNLV saw its season come to an end Wednesday, losing to third-seeded BYU, 5-4, in an elimination game at the 2009 Conoco Mountain West Baseball Championship at Lupton Stadium.
