Clayton Named MWC Offensive Player of the Week

Las Vegas, NV--UNLV Quarterback Omar Clayton (Normal, Ill./Normal Community HS) has been named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week after he led his team to a 34-33 victory over previously unbeaten Hawaii on Saturday.

After a slow start, the junior ended up throwing three touchdown passes and running in another score himself from 11 yards out. Clayton set career highs with 340 yards passing and 28 completions vs. the Warriors, including a game-winning 15-yard fade pass to Phillip Payne in the end zone on third-and-goal with 36 seconds remaining.

Rebels Hold Off Warriors; Clayton Saves the Day

Las Vegas, NV--All week long UNLV knew the Hawaii Warriors were going to bring their high-scoring offense and fans into Sam Boyd Stadium, but the Rebels still had Phillip Payne.

UNLV defeated Hawaii 34-33 in a back-and forth affair that ended in an all-too familiar Phillip Payne fade catch with 36 seconds remaining in the game.

Las Vegas, NV--#24 ranked Oregon State squeaked by upset minded UNLV 23-21 with a last second field goal by Justin Kahut.

Oregon State's star running back, Jacquizz Rodgers, had 26 carries for 166 yards and a score, and his brother, James Rodgers, caught 6 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.
